Ethics and Morals in Concentrated Markets: the Case of the Countries of the Pacific Alliance

Abstract:
Ethics, as the individual value of right; morals, as the collective value of good, are present in all social and human disciplines, even in business management. For this reason, it is important that different social sciences, such as economics and politics, take into account these variables within their analysis. This paper studies relations between business ethics, decision-making process and basic non-natural market concentration effects. Moreover, the analysis continues through business decision-makers, citizens and the state interactions in an imperfect competition market. Finally, the article turns from the theoretical relation to an empirical case study of concentration, ethics and morals in one of the areas of greatest economic growth in Latin America and the Caribbean, the Pacific Alliance (Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru).
